I found this note I wrote on Christmas day and never got around to posting:
Joseph and Mary were headed to Bethlehem to be counted for the census. EVERYONE there were their relatives – parents, grandparents, siblings, and a whole lot of cousins. Sure, they were probably the last to arrive, but who couldn’t find a spot in their place for a pregnant cousin?
The Bible doesn’t say this, but I believe they couldn’t find a place to stay because of the rumors going around about Mary and her pregnancy.
Sounds a little like the church today…
